Kvarner

Plitvice
Plitvice Plitvice LakesPlitvice Lakes (in croatian Plitvička jazera), are composed of 16 interlinked lakes between Mala Kapela Mountain and Plješevica Mountain in the region of Lika. The lake system is divided into the upper lakes (Prošćansko, Ciginovac, Okrugljak, Batinovac, Veliko Jezero = Big Lake, Malo Jezero = Small Lake, Vir, Galovac, Milino Lake, Jezerce, Burgeti and Kozjak) and the lower lakes (Milinovac, Gavanovac, Kaluderovac and Novakovica Brod). The highest of them is Prošćansko Lake (639 m) and the lowest Novakovica Brod (503 m). The upper lakes, surrounded by thick forests and interlinked by a series of waterfalls, with the biggest one is 78m high.

Krk
Krk Isand CroatiaKrk is a croatian island in the northern Adriatic Sea, situated about 30 km from Rijeka in the Bay of Kvarner and part of the County Primorje-Gorski Kotar. Krk is, together with Cres, the largest Adriatic island, with an area of 405.78 km², and also the most populated one, with numerous towns and villages totalling 17,860 habitants. Since 1980 Island Krk is connected with mainland through 1,430 meter two-arch concrete bridge, one of the longest concrete bridges in the world. The island of Krk has also an airport, where are arriving an international flights too. Krk is a popular tourist destination, because of the situation and proximity to Slovenia, southern Germany, Austria, and northern Italy.
